EML Transition Support Evaluation Evaluation Report
The Victorian Injured Worker Outcomes Study (VIWOS) revealed that it was common for injured workers who transitioned off workers’ compensation to experience emotional/mental distress and financial hardship. In response, WorkSafe Victoria (WSV) funded and partnered with Employers Mutual Limited (EML) to trial a 12-month pilot from September 2021 to September 2022. EML’s Transition Support Program aimed to support long-term injured workers with a focus on care coordination as they exit the worker’s compensation scheme. In the pilot, a Transition Specialist supported 50 long-term injured workers to address their barriers to employment, including health, finances, family and community.
